Every week someone asks us the same question:
"Can you beat Progressive?"
Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it isn't.
That surprises people.
As an independent insurance agency, we represent multiple insurance companies. If saving money were as simple as finding the lowest premium, our job would be easy. But after more than two decades helping families recover from claims, I've learned something important:
The real test of an insurance policy isn't how much it costs. It's what happens on your worst day.
A $300 Savings Can Cost Thousands
We've reviewed policies purchased online that looked like great deals until we compared the coverage.
Sometimes the deductibles were much higher than the customer realized.
Sometimes important optional coverages had been declined.
Sometimes liability limits hadn't kept up with the family's assets.
The premium looked fantastic. The protection didn't.
That's why we spend far more time talking about coverage than price.
Direct Insurance Isn't Bad
Companies like Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, and others insure millions of people successfully.
For some drivers, they're an excellent fit.
The difference is that buying directly means you're responsible for understanding every coverage decision yourself.
An independent agent becomes another set of experienced eyes looking for potential gaps before they become expensive surprises.
Insurance Isn't Just About Shopping
Many people think our job is to find the cheapest quote.
Our job is actually much broader.
We help clients answer questions like:
- Is my home insured to today's rebuilding costs?
- Would my umbrella policy actually protect my assets?
- Do I have enough uninsured motorist coverage?
- Am I paying for coverage I no longer need?
- Are there discounts I'm missing?
Those conversations don't happen on an online quote screen.
We Don't Compete on Price Alone
If another company offers better value, we'll tell you.
If we believe your current policy leaves you exposed, we'll explain why.
Our goal has never been to sell the cheapest policy.
Our goal is to make sure our clients understand what they're buying and feel confident that, if something unexpected happens, they'll have the protection they expected.
That's the difference an independent insurance advisor brings to the table.
